Returning to Guadalcanal 70 years after
On 7th August, 70 years ago, the Americans and Allies set their feet on Guadalcanal to turn the history of the Second World War in the Pacific a most talked about in history books, lectures, and colleges around the world.
Honiara over the next two weeks will once again a center of the international and local media of the upcoming activities.
Already some keen war visitors from the United States and other parts of the world are seen walking down the Honiara streets.
More excitements will come in next week as the Battle on Guadalcanal will be celebrated.
