“As the Solomon Islands largest mobile communications network Our Telekom is very excited to announce its commitment as a principal sponsor of the NTF,” Mr. Ngira said.

“We are aware of how communications have become an integral part of local tourism in this day and age.

“We also recognize the role tourism plays in the overall development of the nation’s economy.
“In keeping with the SIVB’s ‘STEP CHANGE’ approach, we too have decided to take a ‘STEP CHANGE’ and help do our part for the national good by becoming involved in the event as a major sponsor.”

Director of Tourism and chairman of the planning committee, Barney Sivoro said Our Telekom’s backing represented a significant development for the industry.

“We really could not have asked for a bigger or better partner and we are extremely grateful to Our Telekom for that support,” he said.

SIVB CEO, Josefa “Jo” Tuamoto said it was very exciting to see such a major player investing in the local tourism industry.

“This is a most significant partnership and one that truly reflects the potential Our Telekom sees in the Solomon Islands’ tourism future, both on the national and international stage,” he said.
